St. Luke's Care
“St Luke’s Care”, a hospital-based community service project completed 7 years in 2023. The project is aimed at providing accommodation to parents of children who are being
treated in Lady Ridgeway Hospital. Fleming Hall is currently used to accommodate males and can accommodate 12-15 at a time. There is a separate female section that
can accommodate 4 at a time.
Under the patronage of parish priests and parishioners, we have been able to grow and continue the service over the years. Since inception, the facilities have been occupied by more than 1500 deserving parents from different backgrounds, coming from all parts of the island. Approximately 300 have used the facilities in 2023.
Currently the project provides the following services:
- Accommodation to parents of children who are being treated in Lady Ridgeway Hospital.
- Basic rations including cooking facilities to prepare meals for the parents.
- Diapers, medication, and other facilities needed for the deserving. Funding is through well-wishers and parishioners.
- On request prayer needs and visits to hospital by the priests
To ensure continuity and make the project more sustainable, the project was brought under the purview of the Board of Wardens in 2023.
